About Tea Chapter

Stepping into this Chinatown heritage shophouse feels like stepping out of the city rush. Wooden booths and low-table tatami rooms spread across three levels, setting a calm, analogue rhythm. Staff start you off by walking through the first decanting at the table—then leave you to brew subsequent rounds at your own pace. Patrons often pair pots of smoky Lapsang Souchong or the signature Imperial Golden Cassia with savoury tea eggs and tea cookies.

  • Table-side brewing guidance: Knowledgeable staff guide the initial steeping and decanting at your table before you take over brewing subsequent rounds yourself.
  • Heritage shophouse setting: Curtained wooden booths and traditional floor-level rooms across a three-storey shophouse offer a serene respite from Chinatown.
  • Tea-infused bites: Braised tea eggs and delicate tea-flavored cookies complement pots of smoky Lapsang Souchong and Imperial Golden Cassia.

  • Hands-On Ceremonial Tabletop Brewing

Staff introduce the brewing ritual and demonstrate decanting at your table before you brew subsequent rounds yourself.

A tea master will join you to demo the first round of decantering flavourful tea into all of your thimbles. Then they let you have a crack at balancing thimbles full of weak to bitter tea on subsequent rounds.

Enjoy a cozy, unhurried escape from urban bustle with calming seating configurations across a three-storey shophouse.

The Chinese-style ambience was beautifully done—peaceful, elegant, and full of character. I especially loved how the tea experience was hands-on; making it myself added a fun, meditative touch that kept me engaged throughout.

  • Traditional Tea Eggs and Pairing Treats

Complement delicate brews with savoury house-made sides including signature herbal tea eggs and tea cookies.

To accompany our tea, we ordered the tea eggs, which were so flavourful and delicious that we ended up purchasing more for takeaway. We also tried their tea cookies, which paired perfectly with the Lapsang Souchong
