Expect heirloom grains like Beras Adan and Sia cooked over clay pots, uncompromised chilli heat, and smoky wok hei. Savour an opening bite of kaya toast topped with caviar before moving into braised oxtail asam pedas and rice-husk-smoked shima aji. Chef Hafizzul Hashim regularly steps out from the kitchen to share the provenance of regional herbs and ingredients at each table. Diners also praise the beverage program—particularly the house-fermented kemangi kombuchas paired alongside bold courses.

Why Dine at Restaurant Fiz

Why discerning diners choose Restaurant Fiz for reimagined Nusantara gastronomy and memorable milestone dining

  • Indigenous Heirloom Ingredients

Dishes highlight indigenous Southeast Asian heirloom grains such as Beras Adan and Sia alongside authentic regional herbs and uncompromised spice levels.

Love the clay pots of rice: Jasmine-scented beras Adan, an heirloom grain from the farmers of Sabah’s Lun Bawang community. Red, polished beras Sia, of coconut milk, ginger and pandan leaves. So much love just on the rice alone .

  • In-House Fermented Kombucha Pairings

House-fermented kombuchas like Kemangi and pear-infused blends provide an intentional, non-alcoholic pairing that cleanses the palate against robust Nusantara spices.

Kombucha pairings are the best palate cleanser in between dishes in my opinion, especially the Kemangi.

  • Tailored Non-Alcoholic Pairings

Thoughtful drink options including curated botanical juices and wine pairings ensure non-drinkers and wine enthusiasts are equally accommodated.

They do a great juice pairing here, for the non-drinkers. I like the roselle drink.

  • Textures of Banana

TEXTURES OF BANANA - this was amazing. How does a banana taste and feel like this???

  • Balinese Vanilla Egg Flan

BALINESE VANILLA EGG FLAN - this felt a little odd to eat because they were two separate things that should be eaten at the same time.

  • Kuih Jiwa Melayang

My personal favourite is kuih jiwa melayang as the aren ice cream has gula melaka and rumie rice has a chewy texture!
